Do You Screen An
Affiliate Marketing Opportunity Before You Join?
Have you found out a great affiliate marketing
opportunity?
Just before you join that affiliate program you should first
take the time to know if you will want to go into partnership with such
a merchant.
You should always watch out for the following signs.
Good signs
- The merchant offers high quality products that you could be
proud to sell.
- The merchant site sell the product effectively. There is no
point doing an excellent job preselling and only to lose the sale
because the merchant's web site couldn't close the sale.
- Affiliate Support... by providing you with info on your
efforts, notifying you when a sale is made, provides you with marketing
tools and materials and show a high degree of commitment to the success
of its affiliates.
- Must be free to join and no need to buy the product.
- Pays good commission on products- at least 20% for digital
goods and 10% for hard goods.
- Offers lifetime cookies. This means if someone you visits
the merchant's site through your link, a life time is placed is placed
on his or her computer so that even if they make a purchase a year
later, you still get paid.
- Offers to pay life time affiliate earning. If you see this
one grab it. It just means that you don't only get paid for a single
product you referred a customer to but also any other product the
customer may decide at a later date from the merchant.
Be careful and do you homework sign.
- Gives out commission on many levels. This is online MLM or
Network Marketing. It is very legal but just that there are lots of
scams out there operating pyramids schemes, claiming to be MLM.
- If all you are to do is to earn income by signing up
others, you most likely are dealing with a pyramid scheme. Many people
confuse honest, legal MLM with dishonest, scammy pyramid schemes.
With legal MLM, it becomes as important to build a strong
downline as it does to sell product. Also, MLM companies are subject to
numerous regulations (to prevent them from becoming pyramids,
basically). Not all online companies are complying (or even know about
this!).
If multi-tier interests you, I would recommend that you
check out established offline MLMs that are now online.
Or... investigate all others extremely carefully before
you decide to invest a lot of time in these.
- Site that promotes "get-rich-quick" gimmicks.
- Poor or little info about the affiliate program available.
What kind of priority could it have?
Take off in the opposite direction signs
- Slow and/or poor support.
- Unethical conduct of any kind.
- Reports of late (or lack of) payments.
- Allow spam, or seem to spam themselves.
- Support, or are slow to condemn bad programs that deprive
hardworking affiliates of their commissions.
- Defective affiliate-joining process. Hey, if they can't get
this right...
- Clauses in the agreement that you find unacceptable.
Can you now be able to pick a great affiliate marketing
opportunity?
It is not recommended to join an affiliate marketing opportunity
that don't accept Nigerians living in Nigeria such as clickbank
affiliate program. Such is very risky even if you decide to use a
foreign address.
Your checks could have problems in getting to you. And if you
will use third party agents to cash your check, their charges will
usually eat deep into your affiliate earning.
Also if you are found out by the company , you will lose all commissions due to
you. Imagine doing all that hard work for nothing.
There are many affiliate marketing opportunity you could join that do accepts
Nigerians and offer great products.
